First Annual Community Awareness Event and Fundraiser

October 1st NSP hosted its first ever community awareness event at Eldora Mountain Lodge. We were thrilled with the turnout - over 80 people came to watch the film “The Power of Community, How Cuba survived Peak Oil” and participate in a panel discussion featuring local experts in sustainability. Lively discussion throughout the evening focused on our mountain community and specific challenges and assets we face in localizing our community’s resources. Not only did we raise money for NSP and our community gardens renovation project, but the evening was also a great forum for raising consciousness around peak oil and our individual responsibilities and role in the creation of sustainable community. Thank you to all who attended as well as our expert panel participants, and much gratitude to contributing local businesses. NSP looks forward to making it an annual event worth marking on your calendar.
