The Nederland Sustainability Project (NSP) was founded in January of 2006 in an effort to join countless communities around the world in the “Relocalization Movement.” This movement works to develop self-sustainable communities by localizing resources such as renewable energy technologies, food production, healthcare, transportation, and economy to a small community level.

Our mission at NSP is to educate, facilitate and empower individual actions that embody community sustainability.

We educate community with sliding-scale classes and workshops.
We facilitate ECOTEAMS in our community. Ecoteams are designed to help households reduce their environmental impacts from energy and water use to consumer behavior. See the class schedule for details.
We empower community sustainability through our developing programs to localize community resources.
We envision future generations of Nederland living in a thriving community in harmony with our environment, taking care of each other and our planet, locally.
